Argus Insurance Supports Research Into Childhood Cancer (RICC)

(May 2016) Argus Insurance has once again shown its support for Charity work in Gibraltar by making a donation to Research into Childhood Cancer (RICC), a charitable organization whose principle aims are to contribute to the development of a cure for childhood cancer and to ensure the treatment administered is less invasive to the child.

RICC is one of Argus Insurance Company (Europe) Limited’s two chosen charities which receive support throughout the year, as a result of fundraising activities organised by the Company’s Charity Committee.

Tarryn Gomez, Chairperson of the Argus Insurance Charity Committee said: “We are delighted with the amount raised and the support we have received both within the office and the community. We’ve held several fund raising activities to help fund this amazing charity, including a Christmas Tree lighting event in December 2015, a raffle and numerous staff dress down days."

RICC was founded in 1989 by the parents of Philip Sacarello, a young boy who battled Neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer, but who sadly died at the age of 9. The charity works closely with Great Ormond Street Hospital in London in their research as well as funding specialist equipment at the hospital locally in Gibraltar.
